The visionary game developer, who helped create the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California aged 55.
His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.
The celebrated video game developer died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This represents a devastating loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and all those touched by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
