He worked his way up to the B team and it was during a pre-season game in which they played against the academy's first team, then managed by Arbeloa, where the youngster is said to have caught the attention of the present manager, who replaced Xabi Alonso in the new year.
Spanish media would later describe the moment as "an instant connection," adding he stood out not only for his skill on the ball, but for the energy, personality and determination he added to the team.
In the summer of 2025, ex-manager Xabi Alonso called up Pitarch to train with the first team and awarded him minutes during the warm-up matches.
However, it was the change in manager that proved the turning point in his career as he came on as a late substitute in each leg against the Portuguese side that set up the meeting with Manchester City.
"I have dreamed of this every night before going to bed, the first day I began playing the game, each day you head to training and every day you have a game," said Pitarch after his debut.

"His greatest quality is his personality," continued he. "He constantly demands the possession, and when pressed, he remains unfazed.
