Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling students that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to all who wish to learn.”
