Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
