Loyal followers of the actress are urging that a man who jumped a fence and touched the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.
A circulating clip reveals the Australian man shoving aside camera operators and charging at Grande while the cast walked down a event pathway flanked by supporters.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by guards.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being taken in", though official papers revealed that he was set to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram feed features clips of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last year.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is clearly a legal violation," commented an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user remarked.
Several fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more message on Instagram.
A number of attendees also criticised event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others demanded online networks to ban Mr Wen's videos.
In footage circulating online, Grande appeared startled when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.
Grande has not commented on the event, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.
Numerous of supporters had congregated in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore venue, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it commenced.
The movie, to be premiered on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part interpretation of the acclaimed stage show Wicked, which centers on the unexpected bond between two distinct witches.
The show itself is a spin-off of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.
They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful movie of last year in the UK, and scored 10 Academy Award nods, winning a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
