Emma Raducanu ends the current season and will keep coach for 2026.

Raducanu made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slam events this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from the last two tournaments in 2025 because of a health issue she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health prior to beginning next year's training.

These plans will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

She had her blood pressure taken in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the third set in the match with Zhu due to a lower back issue that has affected her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally after a long gap for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third stage in last month's Beijing event.

She secured 28 matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three then falling to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
